Carol Roselyn (Longsdorf) Scott, age 92, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 10, 2015. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on March 23, 1923 to Venis and Ferne Longsdorf and grew up in the Jenison and Grandville area. She met the love of her life Albert W. Scott and was married on November 13, 1944. Al died in June of 1974. She is survived by their 5 children, Joyce (Jon–deceased) Helms, Nancy and Don Sharp of Texas, Sally and Pete Nowicki, Doug and Denise Scott, Jack and Lorrie Scott; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Doris Levendowski, brother, Willard “Stub” and Carmen Longsdorf; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jean Boone and Crystal Riley. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, George and Betty Longsdorf; and brother-in-law, Sam Levandowski. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 AM at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville with Rev. Phillip Friedrick officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 5-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Thursday from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Smile.
