Dena “Deane” Schipper

Dena “Deane” Schipper, age 95, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 after a short stay at the Laurels of Hudsonville. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne (Clare) Prince, Sarah (husbands, Jay Stouten and Art Knott.) She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Herman Schipper, of Jenison, who faithfully cared for her the last several years. She is also survived by her children, Linda (Roy) Cotton of Kent City, Jerry (Pat) Schipper of Grandville; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Art (Elaine) Kerkstra; sister, Fran (Bernie) Woudenberg; and family friend, Jim VanOverloop. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, at 11:00 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, July 25, from 10-11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Jill S., from Visiting Angels, who helped care for Deane three times a week.
