The family of Albert and Dora Quittelier wish to extend to Betty Reynold's family and friends sorrow over the passing of Betty on July 30. Betty became our introduction and link in the Wilcox Park neighborhood to the American way of getting things done. Due to both her parents working Betty spent a lot of time with the six "Q" children. We taught her how to male Belgian pancakes, she taught us how to make fried egg sandwiches. She shared with us her summer camp fun, and we spent weeks together at the beach on the Lake Michigan shore. We traveled with her to visit Mary, Ken and Judy in Detroit. We spent hours learning the moves of ping pong in the Norwood basement and tennis against the wooden garage door, and later at the courts across the street. When Judy still lived at home we all played baseball under the supervision of Judy and got history lessons about all the professional players lives and stats. Betty was clever and very intelligent- she was an A student at Marywood Academy and I envied her smarts-she even as a young child learned to spell our last name before I did. And to top it all off-she had a very dry and sharp sense of humor. We thank God for bringing our families together.

I remember especially how Betty was Judy's helper and the wedge that opened up communication for me with her sister. She cared for her always, and, as her representative and advocate, she encouraged me to visit Judy when she was moved to Grand Rapids. Although Betty spent more time with my younger sisters, she caught my attention. Later in life we were blessed to share our testimonies of Christ's goodness to us. She often spoke of her son and his family, and was especially hopeful that some day she could spend more time with her granddaughter. I'm thankful that she chose to follow Christ and look forward to seeing her when He returns.
