GOERKE - Glenn Ivan Goerke, aged 85, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, April 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; brother, Wesley; and sisters, Carol and Lyla. He is survived by his children, Sharon (Roger) Swadner, Stephen (Sharey) Goerke, David (Margaret) Goerke, Sandra (Ronald) Hewartson; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Caren) Goerke; sister, Sylvia Sheppard; sister-in-law, Joan Frechete; and many nieces and nephews. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE with Rev. Keith Bergquist officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
