Henry De Jong, age 87, of Jenison, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherle; sister, Alice Stoutjesdyk; and brother, Bernard De Jong. He is survived by his children, Linda (Mike) De Jong-Strait, Kathy De Jong, Pat (Jim) Coles, Penny (Terry) McDonald; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Vera) De Jong; sister, Margaret (Alfred) Postma; sisters-in-law, Claire Bronkema, Ann De Jong, Judy Raible; brother-in-law, Tom (Janet) Raible; and his nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 1:00 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Israel “Izzy” Young officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 3-5 PM at the Funeral Home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Trinity Congregational Church or The Alzheimer’s Association.

De Jong family, I want to send my deepest sympathy on the passing of your father Hank. My dad, Simon Koster from Simon Koster & Son excavating enjoyed auctions together. Our dads were awesome and close friends thru their life time together and now rejoined with your mom and having long talks and coffee together once again.
