Henry Toering, age 92, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2015. He was preceded in death by his sister, Winnie Frieswyk and brother, Clarence Toering. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jack and Sharon Toering, Jan and Jim Nysse; grandchildren, Holly and David Allen, Ryan Toering, Nicole and Alex Grasmeyer, Heather and Josh Lunger, Jason and Kristin Nysse, Jeff and Tami Nysse, Joel and Laura Nysse; great grandchildren, Jaden and Andreas Allen, Austen, Alayna, and Drew Nysse; sisters, Hilda Dekker, Grace and Rich Dykstra; and many nieces and nephews. Henry proudly served our country in several battles as a member of the United States Army during WWII, including the Battle of the Bulge. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 AM at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, 1571 Baldwin Street, Jenison with Rev. Phillip Vos officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8:30 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and Wednesday from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church.
