Merrill Lee Tyler, age 84, of Grand Rapids, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 24, 2015. He served proudly in the Army Air Corps/Air Force from 1949 to 1952. He was preceded in death by their six baby angels; his parents, Leon and Erma Tyler; brothers, Clarence and Gordon Tyler; sister, Dorothy Buck. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Nancy; their children, Mike (Monica) Tyler, Linda (Tom) Brown; grandchildren, Treaver (Amity) Tyler, Tracy (Dennis) Worrell, Tricia (Jeremy) Worrell, Lydia Brown; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Cheri Klopfenstein; sister-in-law, Delores Tyler; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Merrill “Ty” will be held on Monday, April 27 at 11:00 am at Snow United Methodist Church, 3189 Snow Ave. SE, Lowell, with Rev. Tony Shumaker and Rev. Thurlan Meredith officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or Mercy Health St. Mary’s.
