Rev. Theodore Wevers, age 91, died peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (nee Van Someren) in 1991; his second wife, Julia Achterhof (nee DeHaan) in 2011; and his daughter, Betty Zondervan, in 2011. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his children, Thea and Arnold Toonstra of Wyoming, MI, Frank and Sally Wevers of Holland, MI; son-in-law, Jim Zondervan of Lethbridge, Canada; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings (John, Wilma, and George) and is survived by 3 siblings (Clarence, Richard, and Rachel). Ted served as pastor to congregations in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, California, and Wisconsin. Since retirement, he was a member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyoming. The family is grateful to the staff at Sheldon Meadows for the wonderful care given to dad over the past 7 years. A private graveside committal will be held for immediate family. A memorial service, open to all, will celebrate Ted’s life and God’s faithfulness on Friday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center Avenue SW, Wyoming, MI.
