Robert “Bob” W. Pastoor

Robert “Bob” W. Pastoor, age 83, of Grand Rapids, was taken to Glory on Friday, August 28, 2015.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn; their children, Doug and JoAnn Pastoor, Jim and Lori Pastoor, Dan and Lori Pastoor, Pam Van Putten, Steve and Dawn Pastoor, Tom and Brenda Pastoor; daughter-in-law, Jane Pastoor; son-in-law, Larry Van Putten; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Joan and George Slopsema, Mary Gerritsen; sister-in-law, Dolly Geers; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his great grandchildren, Calvin Bodbyl, Faith Bodbyl; brothers-in-law, Robert Noordyke, James Gerritsen, Fredrick Geers. Bob’s focus in life was his faith, his church and his family. He proudly served our country during the Korean War as a member of the US Army. The family wishes to thank the staff of Georgetown and Cambridge Manors for all their loving and compassionate care for Bob over the past two years. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 am at First Protestant Reformed Church, 2800 Michigan Street NE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. James Slopsema and Rev. Richard Smit officiating. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Georgetown Manor or a Christian school of one’s choice.

Dear Pastoor Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult yet glorious time when God has called one of his valiant Saints home to be with him. Your Husband and Father was a kind soul and we will always his warm and inviting smile on the occasions we had to meet him.
