Ruth Evelyn Bouwhuis

BOUWHUIS – Ruth Evelyn Bouwhuis, aged 97 of Grand Rapids went to heaven on Saturday, May 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Carroll Bouwhuis and granddaughter, Shannon Bouwhuis. She is survived by her children, Judy and Fred TenBrock, Daniel Bouwhuis, Nancy Nystrom, Joseph and Mary Bouwhuis, Ruth Ann and Ryan Walter, John and Valentina Bouwhuis; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One of Ruth’s passions was being a clown for various activities and was known as “Goldie Mae” and she volunteered at Kentwood Community and St. Dominic Church and was the former activity/crafts director at Brown Manor. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Dominic Church, 50 Bellevue SW, Wyoming with Fr. Charles Dautremont , celebrant. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11 am. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
